Family Portrait(s) is a modular installation that visualises the connections between people in the context of global mobility. Each clock functions at its own time zone but is also tether to another existing in a different time zone, by an almost invisible string. The connections become visible only when the audience takes the effort to get closer, to discover and pay attention. This action resembles the nature of relationships and communication from the immigrant standpoint. Family Portrait is also a calendar: every 12 hours, when the clock needles completes a full circle, the string wraps itself up leaving an extra track passage of time.
