It’s Not That Simple was performed as a response to Declared Void II by Carey Young, using the artwork as a stage. It’s Not That Simple showed how immigrants’ lives are entangled in complex systems of legality, politics, and relationships, that legitimize their right to exist in the space. In this power dynamic migrants have to constantly adapt and struggle to fit.
